IconCool Studio includes excellent creation and editing tools along with the ability to work with a variety of sizes and colors. It can create unique, semi-transparent XP icons and works seamlessly with Adobe Photoshop.
Although IconCool does not include its own archiving features, files can be saved as ICL (Icon Library Files) and archived using your own library or file system.
With IconCool Studio you can create original icons or develop icons from existing images. It also has a search feature that can search your system for existing images or you can use the capture tool to copy any image you want. You can also build cursor files with this program.
This product does not yet support Windows Vista icons, but a new version will soon be released with that capability. Those who buy this version will be able to upgrade to the new version for free.
IconCool Studio enables you to edit icons or cursors using various drawing tools. Stylize your icons by embossing, distorting or changing the outline. You can also edit multi-format icons at once.
IconCool Studio does not have its own library manager. You may save your icons to an icon library file (ICL) to manage files in your regular file directory.
This product is easy to use, however tutorials are not included should you need assistance.
The help documentation is not as thorough as some of the other products. The help file does include a search option and FAQs. They offer email support for technical questions.
IconCool Studio is a capable icon editor and creator. Those that require a functional and easy to use icon editor, but do not need an icon library, will enjoy this product. For a product that has everything including an icon library manager, see our #1 product IconWorkshop.
